The Sceptics (Manchester Scene)

This five mates fronted by Isaac Pugh, rhythm guitar Will Riley, lead guitar Oli “Jacko” Jackson, bass guitar Ollie Dunne and drummer Jamies Foster Grime are know as The Sceptics they’re from manchester and I asked them what bands they love and Will give this answer

“Being from Manchester, it is impossible to escape the world of the ‘Manchester scene’. We are very big fans of Manchester based such bands as Oasis, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Courteeners and James, as well as some slightly more modern indie/rock bands such as the Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian. On top of this we also all enjoy some of the rock and roll classics, by bands such as The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Pink Floyd , the Jimi Hendrix experience and so on. We also take some inspiration from bands which share our heritage. For example the Saw Doctors, who are of course one of the great Irish bands.”

Also he share with us a little of their way that brings them here today

“We are a band based mainly in Altrincham, South Manchester. Despite only being together for roughly 8 months, we have managed to gather ourselves a decent following, and a reputation for putting on exciting live performances. With a combination of Dunne’s funky bass lines, Riley’s powerful rhythms, Foster-Grime’s exciting drum beats, Pugh’s powerful vocals and catchy lyrics with Jacko’s intriguing decorations and sensational solos, we have managed to create some high tempo, groovy songs which get people up on their feet and bouncing, as well as some slightly slower singalong songs. We are very keen on bringing the indie rock scene back to where it once was”

And now what’s next

”Within the next 12 months, we plan to have a 5 song ep recorded and released. We also plan to headline and sell out a gig at a venue with at least 200 capacity. For example the Deaf Institute which we played at already as a support act. We also plan to start producing merchandise, selling both online with a website which we plan to set up, as well as establishing a Merch stand for when we play live.”

Well I only can say this:  so far so good, really love this debut single it’s pretty solid, great lyrics the music following the voice of Isaac everything perfectly balance,  is a very promising start, hopefully all this madness finish soon and all of us can come back to our normal life and we’ll be waiting for more tracks by The Sceptics.
